Vietnamese in Laos support victims of dam collapse
(VOVWORLD) - Vietnamese workers in Laos have raised more than 3,300 USD, 2 tons of rice, and other daily necessities to help people who were affected by the collapse of the Sepien Senamnoi hydropower dam in Attapeu province.
The dam of the 1.2 billion USD power project collapsed last Monday, inundating 6 communes and leaving more than 100 people dead or missing.
Vietnamese Buddhist followers in Vientiane have donated 8,500 USD for people in the flooded areas while Vietnam’s Army Corps 11 has given Attapeu province 44,000 USD for disaster relief.
