(VOVworld) - Vietnamese law-makers wish to work closely with Indian partners on legislative activities to increase mutual understanding, solidarity, and political ties between the two countries. This was stated by National Assembly Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong at a meeting Tuesday with Pallath Joseph Kurien, Indian Deputy Chairman of the Upper House of Parliament, on the sidelines of the 131st Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly. Phong suggested increasing delegation exchanges at all levels, sharing experience in law-making and supervision, increasing meetings of friendship parliamentarian groups, and monitoring the implementation of cooperation agreements and treaties to push the bilateral strategic partnership forward. She expressed her hope for India’s support of Vietnam’s East Sea stance and stronger cooperation in oil and gas activities in the East Sea.
