Vietnamese movie nominated for Lotus Award at 15th Bangkok International Film Festival

(VOVWORLD) - “Memento Mori: Earth”, a Vietnamese movie about end-of-life stage cancer patients, is nominated for the Lotus Award Competition for promising filmmakers worldwide at the 15th Bangkok International Film Festival.

The movie by Marcus Manh Cuong Vu conveys a message of respecting for life, spreads humanitarian stories, and introduces unique images of Vietnam to the world.

The film is the first in the trilogy of "Memento Mori the Movie" with Marcus Manh Cuong Vu writing the script and directing the film.

Launched in 2019, the series draws inspiration from the true story of the “Destination of life” book by Vietnamese author Dang Hoang Giang. The film raises important questions of human life on the line between life and death by the way an ordinary family in rural Vietnam confronts it.

After 2 screening sections at the Bangkok International Film Festival, the movie was warmly welcomed by the audiences.

The 15th Bangkok International Film Festival began on December 2 at SF World Cinema Central World, screening 61 films and 20 experimental cinematographic works from 51 countries.
