Sophie Kempson, Programme Development Director at AAL, said this is the first year AAL has organised exhibitions to promote Asian arts at auction houses like Sotheby’s, Bonhams, and Christie’s, exposing a broader audience attending auctions to new galleries or artists they may not have known.

AAL is an annual event begun in 1998 that promotes Asian art in London’s art hub. It attracts galleries, prominent auction houses, and cultural organisations specialising in Asian art from the UK, Europe, and around the world.
This year’s event, which will run until this Friday, includes 20 Asian art exhibitions from galleries in several countries, as well as 20 auction sessions focused on Chinese, Japanese, Southeast Asian, Indian, Middle Eastern, and Islamic art.
There will also be a seminar on Asian art attended by art experts, scholars, and curators from major museums and galleries.
