Vietnamese Physicians’ Day marked

(VOVworld) – The President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan, visited the Vietnam Medical Association on Wednesday on the 59th anniversary of Vietnamese Physicians’ Day. Mr. Nhan spoke highly of the Association’s cooperation with the Ministry of Health in supervising the operation of private medical clinics and pharmacies. He hoped that the Association would continue to contribute to general public healthcare.

On the same day, Da Nang city People’s Committee held a ceremony to mark the event. At the event, 4 doctors were granted the title of People’s Physicians while 15 others received Emeritus Physician titles for their considerable contributions to public healthcare. Doctor Nguyen Ut, the Deputy Head of Da Nang city’s Department of Health, was recognized as People’s Physician: "It is a great honor for me to receive this title. I will continue to do my best to contribute to public healthcare. This prize also invokes the merciful spirit of the physician and encourages us to do our job better and to fight against any bad work in the health sector". 

A meeting to mark the event was also held in Tuyen Quang province on Wednesday. Outstanding individuals and organizations in the health sector in Tuyen Quang were honored at this occasion.
