Entitled ‘Memories of Dien Bien’, the event celebrates the 60th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory and is in response to International Museum Day on May 18th. Nguyen Thi Bich Van, the Director of the Vietnamese Women’s Museum, said: “The exhibition features images of women who were behind the war. They were the people who did silent work including transporting food and supplies to the campaign and taking care of wounded soldiers. These are simple but impressive stories.”
Also on Tuesday, a seminar on Dien Bien Phu and its historical issues was held in Binh Duong province with the participation of 200 scientists and researchers from universities and institutes across the country. Participants highlighted the historical value of the triumph, its influence on Vietnam, the region, and national liberation movements worldwide.
