Vietnam-RoK Business Forum opens

(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, RoK President Yoon Suk Yeol, and more than 500 representatives of businesses and economic groups of the two countries attended the Vietnam-RoK Business Forum in Hanoi on Friday.

In his address, President Yoon Suk Yeol urged the two countries to upgrade the Vietnam-RoK ties and further strengthen trade exchanges to raise bilateral trade to 150 billion USD by 2030.

Vietnam and the RoK need to boost bilateral cooperation in digital transformation and energy transition through more practical projects, said the RoK President.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said Vietnam encourages Korean businesses to invest in innovation, digital transformation, bio-technology, electronics, semi-conductor, clean energy, green economy, smart cities, and high-tech agriculture. The Prime Minister expressed his hope that Korean businesses will increase investment in culture and the entertainment industry, an area that the RoK has proven strength.

Earlier, Prime Minister Chinh hosted a roundtable discussion on ways to boost bilateral trade and investment cooperation in the new period with leaders of business associations and leading economic groups of the RoK. Korean businesses said they consider Vietnam an important, strategic partner and pledged to work closely with Vietnam toward common prosperity.
