(VOVworld) – A range of activities are underway nationwide to mark Vietnam’s 3rd Book Day, April 21^st.

In Hanoi, a Book Festival is held at Thong Nhat park attracting the participation of 90 publishers. There is also a seminar on sovereignty over the sea and islands as reflected in various books and publications. Chu Van Hoa Director General of the Authority of Publication, Printing and Distribution said the event had become a community festival: “This is a cultural event reflecting Vietnam’s learning tradition and its determination to become a nation of knowledge and cultural identity”.

On Wednesday, Da Nang city organized the Hai Chau Book festival to mark the occasion. The organizing board called on the festival goers to donate books to schools, cultural centers and community learning centers in the city.

Similar activities took place in Ha Tinh, Ha Giang, Yen Bai, Lang Son and Kon Tum province.
