Vietnam’s army capable of receiving more than 37,000 people for quarantine against Covid-19

(VOVWORLD) - The Defense Ministry has received more than 16,000 Vietnamese and foreigners for quarantine, according to a meeting of the Ministry’s steering committee on Covid-19 response on Tuesday.

These people entered Vietnam from coronavirus-affected areas, the Ministry said. 

The military has deployed hundreds of mobile teams in border areas to prevent the spread of the epidemic and put in place facilities capable of quarantining more than 37,000 people. 

“We have organized a training course to draw experience as soon as the fight against Covid-19 in Vietnam entered the 2nd phase," said Nguyen Xuan Kien, Head of the Military Medical Department.

"A number of military hospitals are able to perform coronavirus tests. The Vietnam Military Medical University has announced a new-generation negation test kit. Thorough preparations have been made in response to the epidemic,” he added.   

By Tuesday, Vietnam had confirmed 34 Covid-19 cases including 16 having recovered.
