(VOVWORLD) - Defending Vietnam’s national border and fighting illegal entries and the COVID-19 pandemic will be the major tasks of the border forces assigned at the online military conference on Saturday.

The border forces have deployed an additional of 8,000 troops to guard 1,900 check points on land and at sea to prevent illegal entries. Each border soldier is assigned to work as a communicator helping to raise the awareness of people in border about prevention of COVID-19 and illegal immigration.
