Vietnam’s COVID-19 cases remain at 355

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam recorded no new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday. Of 355 COVID-19 patients in Vietnam, 335 have fully recovered and the rest are receiving treatment and are in stable condition.

Globally, 10.5 million cases of COVID-19 have been reported, with 514,000 deaths, according to worldometers.info. The United States leads the world in number of COVID-19 cases and deaths. The majority of new infections in the US are now occurring in western and southern states.

The epidemic is worsening in South America where Brazil is now the world's second worst hotspot. As of Wednesday, Brazil had recorded more than 1.4 million infections and nearly 60,000 fatalities.

The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) warned Tuesday that 438,000 coronavirus deaths could occur in October in Latin America and the Caribbean.
