The garment and textile sector enjoys an export turnover of 25.2 billion USD in the January-October period of 2018, an increase of 17.1 percent against 2017.

Key export items included telephones and components, garments, electronic products and computers, machinery and footwear. The agro-fisheries sector saw a slight increase in export turnover except coffee and pepper.

In the reviewed period, Vietnam exported 5.2 million tons of rice, earning 2.6 billion USD. China is the biggest importer, followed by Indonesia, Iraq, the Philippines and Malaysia.
