Vietnam’s fresh lychees sold in Japan’s supermarkets

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam’s fresh lychees have hit the shelves of supermarkets in Kagoshima Prefecture of Japan for the first time, as part of a “Vietnam’s goods” week in Kagoshima AEON supermarkets from Friday to Sunday.

Kagoshima governor Koichi Shiota informed of the sale of lychees to Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Vu Hong Nam at their online working session on Friday.

Over 300 AEON stores and supermarkets across Japan will hold “Vietnam’s goods” days from June 25 to June 27. This is an annual event attracting both the Vietnamese community in Japan and locals.

The Vietnamese Embassy and the Trade Office are working with AEON Mall Co., Ltd on the promotion of Vietnamese goods during the event, with a focus on lychee and farm produce.
