High on the agenda will be the election of the State President, the socio-economical condition, the economic structure, the national target program, the national financial plan, and the mid-term public investment plan. Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung said macroeconomic stability has laid a solid foundation for economic restructuring and social security. Vietnam’s GDP will likely grow above 6.7% this year, according to Minister Dung.
“Vietnam continues to see positive economic prospects. The macroeconomy has been stable and trust in the investment and business climate consolidated. But challenges have remained including a stronger US dollar and rising crude oil and commodity prices in the world,” said Minister Dung.
The year-end NA session will run from next Monday until November 20. At a recent meeting, the Party Central Committee nominated General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong as a candidate for the post of State President, replacing Mr. Tran Dai Quang, who passed away last month due to a serious illness.
