Vietnam’s general elections prove people’s trust in the Party, State

(VOVWORLD) - More than 69 million voters nationwide cast their votes for deputies to the 15th National Assembly and all-level People's Councils of the 2021-2026-term on May 23.

Preliminary assessment on the elections is being made and the election results and list of elected deputies to the municipal and provincial People's Councils are being announced.

Bui Van Cuong, Secretary General of the National Assembly, Chairman of the National Assembly Office, and Chief of the National Election Council Office, said the voter turnout of 99.6% reflects people’s political awareness, patriotism, and trust in the Party and State.

He said although the election took place amid the COVID-19 outbreak, it was held successfully.

On June 10, the National Election Council will convene to make an overall evaluation on the elections under the leadership of the National Assembly Chairman and Chairman of the National Election Council Vuong Dinh Hue.

According to the National Election Council Office, democracy, equality, lawfulness, and safety were ensured at the elections which were a truly festive day for Vietnamese people.
