Vietnam’s international status raised in holding UNSC non-permanent seat

(VOVWORLD) - Professor Grigory Lokshin, an expert on Vietnamese studies from the Russian Academy of Sciences’ Institute of Far Eastern Studies, has praised Vietnam’s increased international status after winning a record number of votes to become a non-permanent member at the UN Security Council.

In his article on the Russian Independence newspaper, the author recalled Vietnam’s previous service at the UN Security Council non-permanent membership in 2008 and now as a socialist country winning a record number of supporting votes. He quotes the Japanese newspaper Mainichi in its appreciation of Vietnam’s consistent pursuance of open and diversified foreign relations policy towards global sustainable development and climate change combat as well as security and peace safeguarding.
