At a conference in Tay Ninh province on Sunday, 9 travel agencies in Ho Chi Minh city and 20 tourist service providers in southeastern provinces signed agreements to co-organize tourist itineraries from Ho Chi Minh City to Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, Dong Nai, and Ba Ria-Vung Tau province. They will offer high quality tours at competitive prices to promote domestic tourism.

At the event, Ho Chi Minh City Party Secretary Nguyen Thien Nhan said the southeast is the most dynamic economic region in the country with many tourism advantages. He advised regional provinces to strengthen connectivity to attract investment in tourism infrastructure.

Mr. Nhan recommended a roadmap to gradually reopen tourism. He said, “The epidemic will be around for a long time. We cannot wait until it subsides all over the world to reopen our doors. We need to promote international tourism, but open gradually, starting with nearby countries that are sufficiently safe.”
