Led by Defense Deputy Minister and Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang, Vietnam’s contingent of 125 officers and soldiers competed in eight disciplines: tank crew, medical staff, food service specialists, emergency rescue personnel, literary/art and dancing contestants, snipers, combat engineers, and chemical reconnaissance vehicle crew.

The Vietnamese tank crew finished second after Uzbekistan in the Tank Biathlon finals in Russia on Thursday. The Vietnamese chemical reconnaissance team and combat engineers finished in third place, despite taking part in the event for the first time.

The games created an excellent opportunity for the Vietnamese team to expand their vision and strengthen relations with other countries. Vietnam’s achievements at the Games have contributed to raising the position of Vietnam’s army in the international arena.

This year, the Army Games has attracted over 6,000 military personel athletes in 223 teams from 39 countries from Europe, Asia, Africa, Central and Latin America.
