Vietnam’s trade surplus hits 23.3 billion USD, CPI rises 3.78% in 10 months

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam posted a trade surplus of 23.3 billion USD in the past 10 months, according to the General Statistics Office (GSO).

Vietnam's export revenue during this period stood at 336 billion USD,  up 15% year on year. Notably, 31 export products each surpassed 1 billion USD.

The US remained Vietnam's largest export market with an export turnover of more than 98 billion USD. China continued to be Vietnam’s top supplier with an import turnover totaling 117 billion USD.

Meanwhile, Vietnam's Consumer Price Index (CPI) in October increased by 0.33% compared to the previous month and by 2.89% year-on-year.

The CPI growth was driven primarily by higher prices for food, rental housing, and domestic fuel which fluctuated in line with global market trends. The GSO noted that transportation showed the largest increase among sectors, largely due to an increase in fuel prices.

The CPI rose by 3.78% year-on-year in the past 10 months.
