(VOVworld) – Vietnam and Thailand share similarities in its culture and people which is a premise for the close development of the two countries as well as other ASEAN members, said Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan while receiving Somchai Wongsawat, Senior Adviser of the Pheu Thai Party (PTP) (For Thais Party), in Hanoi on Wednesday.

Nhan spoke highly of the Thai government’s cooperation during Vietnam’s national construction and development and at regional and global forums. He appreciated the favorable conditions the Thai government has created for the Vietnamese to settle in Thailand, contributing to both countries’ socio-economic development.

Wongsawat, who was also former Thai Prime Minister, said his country will join Vietnam’s efforts in deepening the two countries’ bilateral strategic partnership for the benefits of both people and the formation of a strong, united ASEAN Community.
