Violence repeats on anniversary of Yellow Vest protests

(VOVWORLD) - 28,000 French protestors on Saturday went down the street to commemorate the 1st anniversary of the “Yellow Vest” protest.

More than 4,700 people gathered in public venues in Paris, except for the Champs Elysees Avenue and neighboring squares which demonstrators have been banned from. Violence burst out in the Italie Square where protestors break glass windows of a shopping mall and a hotel, and burn trash bins and machines of a nearby construction site. Local police had to fire tear gas and water cannon on the crowd. Hundreds of protestors occupied an abandoned theater in Paris.
