Addressing the event, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc appealed to agencies, organizations, enterprises, and people from all walks of life to continue to join hands with the Vietnam Red Cross Society and the Party and State to support the poor and disadvantaged people, thus building a united community which remains healthy and safe amid the pandemic, natural disasters or war.

Mr. Phuc said: “Voluntary and humanitarian work is not the sole responsibility of the State or any single organization, community or individual, but the common responsibility of the entire society, in which the State should play a proactive and orienting role. Humanitarian and charitable work should be conducted in a well-organized, professional and effective manner.”
