(VOVworld) – Meetings with voters have been underway nationwide to prepare for the 11^th session of the 13^th National Assembly (NA). At such events, NA delegations informed the scheduled content of the upcoming meeting and acquired voters’ opinions and recommendations. As planned, the National Assembly will approve seven draft laws, give opinions to one bill, and debate socio-economic issues and supervisory activities.

Voters in Ha Giang province said they hope the National Assembly will further invest in infrastructure, transportation in rural, mountain, and border areas facilitating better conditions for the local socio-economic development and narrowing gaps between urban and rural regions.
They said the NA should work out long-term policies to support mountain and ethnic areas. Policies to help mountain and ethnic students to attend school are also needed along with job generation for workers in these regions.

During a meeting with Quang Tri’s NA delegation, voters praised the performance of NA leaders at recent NA sessions and said they hope the upcoming NA and People’s Council elections will be a success.

Hau Giang voters recommended the Party, Government, and National Assembly take more drastic measures in safeguarding national territorial waters, particularly against the illegal occupation of islands in Vietnamese waters.
They called for ways to protect Vietnamese fishermen’s assets and fishing grounds. They also mentioned the need to develop a strategy and find solutions to address climate change, especially saline intrusion in the Mekong Delta including Hau Giang province.
