VOV should continue to take on its role of a leading media agency: PM

(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on Wednesday asked the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) to continue to take on the role of a leading media agency in Vietnam.

Mr. Phuc had a working session with key leaders of VOV in VOV headquarters in Hanoi on Wednesday. This was his second visit to VOV as Prime Minister of Vietnam, reflecting how much the Prime Minister and the government care for VOV’s 75-year development.

VOV President Nguyen The Ky said VOV is building a strategy to develop itself into a leading national media agency with multiple media forms, languages, and platforms and an effective communication tool of the Party and the government. The broadcaster’s development strategy until 2025 focuses on strong reform of content and formats, application of advanced technology, and improvement of management capacity and finance.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc praised VOV reporters and editors as pioneers in journalism front and called on VOV to keep the audience better informed. He said: “This is the mainstream media that inform people of the Party and State. In three fourths of the century, VOV has disseminated Vietnamese spiritual and cultural values to the world and international friends, refuted false information, and contributed to consolidating people’s trust in the leadership of the Party and government and in the future of the country, and making people love their lives more.”
