“After opening a new representative office in India, VOV now has bureaus in major locations around the world. The move has received special attention from the leaders and people of both countries because Vietnam will now have more information about India and vice versa. VOV and India’s media agencies are urged to increase cooperation. VOV’s inauguration of this office is the first step to realizing that goal,” said VOV President Nguyen The Ky.

Mr. Ky said India and other South Asian countries are strategically important to Vietnam, adding that VOV’s new bureau in India will create new cooperation opportunities in communications between the two nations.

“We know India is ready to enhance bilateral relations in culture and media. VOV has instructed its India bureau to gather information about India so the Vietnamese public will have a better understanding of India. At the same time, the bureau will introduce Vietnam to the Indian people. We’ll increase our radio and TV coverage so Indians can listen to and watch our programs via satellite, Internet, and other means of transmission,” said Mr. Ky.

The India office is VOV's thirteenth foreign bureau.
