(VOVWORLD) -Newly appointed heads of Vietnamese representative agencies abroad paid a courtesy visit to the leaders of the Voice of Vietnam at the National Broadcasting Center, 58 Quan Su Street, Hanoi, on Monday.

At the meeting joined online by 13 Voice of Vietnam’s overseas bureaus, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thu Hang applauded VOV’s role in reporting and its support for any foreign affairs activity. The close cooperation between the two agencies has contributed to the overall success of foreign affairs activities, she said, adding that the 19 ambassadors and 4 consuls general will soon take up their duties in various continents, many of which have representative offices of the Voice of Vietnam.

“During their term of office, the ambassadors and consuls general will receive support from reporters in their respective areas. We hope that in the future, with a wider presence of VOV’s representative offices, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue our support and close coordination. We hope to receive the continued cooperation of all VOV's overseas bureaus,” the Deputy FM said.

Do Tien Sy, Member of the Party Central Committee and President of VOV, briefed the guests on the broadcaster’s major milestones in its 80-year history. He said the Voice of Vietnam and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have been closely working with each other and will continue to strengthen this relationship and achieve even greater results in the future.

“VOVWorld or VOV5 Channel has established a close bond with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the 13 VOV’s overseas bureaus present today. The Voice of Vietnam, with its three characteristics – multi-platform, multi-media, and multi-language – broadcasting in 12 foreign languages, is very pleased to see, based on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' assessment, that VOV contributes to strengthening foreign affairs information,” Mr. Sy said.

At the meeting, the ambassadors and consuls general pledged their continued partnership with the Voice of Vietnam in coordinating the provision of updated information about the situation in Vietnam to international friends.
