VOVworld wins gold prize at National Radio Festival

(VOVWORLD) - A VOVworld live broadcast program on how foreigners cope with COVID-19 in Vietnam has won the gold prize at the National Radio Festival, which concluded in Cao Lanh city on Saturday evening. VOVworld also won the silver prize in the talkshow category.

The 3-day festival’s closing ceremony was attended by Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh and radio staff, reporters, editors, and technicians from all over Vietnam.

The 14th National Radio Festival, themed “Radio – Innovation and Diversity”, organized by the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) in cooperation with the Dong Thap provincial People’s Committee, drew 62 stations, 16 affiliates of the Voice of Vietnam, the Military Broadcasting Center, and the Department of Communications of the Ministry of Public Security. 

315 contest entries competed for 25 gold, 65 silver, and 80 bronze prizes, 6 special prizes for 'talented host', and certificates of merit in six categories: news reports, interviews, thematic radio programs and talk shows, live broadcasts, radio programs in an ethnic minority language, and radio dramas.

A workshop on communication technology in the digital age, an online workshop on changing perceptions and social behavior through radio dramas, and an exhibition of radio technology was held during the festival.

The next National Radio Festival will take place in Ho Chi Minh city in 2022.
