Vu Lan festival celebrated in Czech Republic
(VOVWORLD) -Vu Lan Mother’s Day, one of the biggest Bhuddist events in Vietnam, was celebrated in Prague on Sunday.

Addressing the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Most Venerable Thich Bao Nghiem praised the efforts of the Vietnamese Buddhist Followers’ Association in the Czech Republic for popularizing Buddhist teaching. Nghiem said: “Living in Vietnam or elsewhere, we are bound to each other by compassion, harmony between religion and life, and humanism. That’s the morality of the Vietnamese and Buddhist followers throughout the 2,000 year development of Buddhism in Vietnam.”
Vietnamese Ambassador to the Czech Republic Ho Minh Tuan said the Embassy has worked with the Overseas Vietnamese Association in the Czech Republic to build a united and integrated Vietnamese community who contribute to the homeland.
Vu Lan, which falls on the 15th day of the 7th lunar month, is an opportunity for Vietnamese people to show gratitude to their parents.
