(VOVWORLD) - The Ministry of Public Security and Nhan Dan Newspaper launched a program called "Moving forward with Vietnam" at Hoan Kiem lake on Saturday, marking 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day.

Themed "a billion steps into the new era", the nationwide program mobilized citizens to walk one billion steps for better health, solidarity, and the aspirations of a transforming Vietnam.
Addressing the event, Deputy Minister of Public Security Tran Quoc To said: "By engaging millions of citizens, cadres, and soldiers and embracing the motto “One Hour, One Billion Steps for a Healthy, United, and Progressive Vietnam”, the program powerfully reaffirms a revitalized, cohesive nation poised to enter a new era of development with renewed stature and spirit.

In Da Nang, the program attracted 5,700 participants, including police forces, militia members, young people, and local residents.
Le Quang Minh, a grassroots security officer from An Hai Ward, who took part in the event, said: "I am very honored to be here today. The program creates a heroic atmosphere and strong solidarity among us. It also fosters a proud Vietnamese spirit, uniting us to step into a new era of development and success."
In Dak Lak province, over 2,000 people and armed forces participated in a 2,000-meter run at March 10 Square on Saturday, in response to the program.
