The event organized by the Ministry of National Defense coincided with the 50th anniversary of the uprising. The participants together with leaders of Huong Hoa district and locals reviewed glorious feats of arms which contributed to the defeat of the American armed forces, liberated the southern region, and reunited the nation in 1975.

The war veterans of the 4th Military Region of the Vietnam People's Army burned incense and offered flowers in commemoration of their comrades at the National Road 9 Martyrs' Cemetery and Huong Hoa district’s Martyrs' Cemetery.

The delegation on Wednesday visited the Quang Tri Citadel and Thua Thien-Hue province before concluding the trip.
