(VOVworld) – A water puppetry performance marked the commencement of the Vietnam culture and tourism festival, which opened in the Japanese prefecture of Osaka earlier this week. This is the first time Vietnamese puppeteers have performed the traditional and unique art in Osaka.

Organized by the Vietnam Consulate General in Osaka and the Vietnam Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the program drew representatives from the Consulate General of ASEAN, the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association, the Vietnamese Association in Kansai and crowds of local people. Local authorities praised the organizers for holding folk music performances and cultural and people-to-people exchanges that helped strengthen mutual understanding, friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Japan.
