(VOVworld) – The World Bank (WB) pledges to continue its support for Vietnam’s development by closely cooperating with Vietnamese legislative agencies to improve Vietnam’s law building and management capacity. World Bank Country Director Victoria Kwakwa made the remarks at a meeting with National Assembly Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan in Hanoi on Wednesday. Ms. Ngan hailed the WB’s support for Vietnam to continue receiving International Development Association (IDA) resources for infrastructure development and poverty reduction. She also spoke highly of the WB’s new Country Partnership Strategy for Vietnam, outlining the strategic directions for the Bank’s engagements in Vietnam from 2012 to 2016, and the group’s preferential loans for Vietnam, worth 42 million USD. The legislative leader asked for more WB consultations on Vietnam’s socio-economic development policies to help Vietnam complete its development goals by 2020.
