At Friday reception in Hanoi for World Bank Vietnam Country Director Victoria Kwakwa, Phuc reiterated that Vietnam considers the Bank a reliable partner in its development process, not only in terms of resource provision but also policy consultation in infrastructure construction and poverty reduction.
Discussing a workshop on the development of Vietnam’s central coastal region slated to take place in May, both host and guest said the event will examine opportunities and challenges the region faces, and the possibility of bilateral cooperation to realise the PM approved master plan for the development of the north-central and central coastal regions until 2020.
The event will clarify the government’s development strategies and priorities for the central coastal region, as well as the WB’s assistance, especially in climate change adaptation and infrastructure upgrade. Kwakwa assured Phuc that the bank will stand side by side with Vietnam to fulfill its socioeconomic development goals.
