(VOVworld) - The White House released a report on US economic prospects on Monday, giving an optimistic evaluation. According to the report, the US economy will achieve a growth rate of 3.1% this year and 3.4 in 2015. The unemployment rate will remain at 6.9%. Economists said the forecast by the White House is more optimistic than that of Blue Chip or the Congressional Budget Office (CBO). The White House based on the assumption that the US Congress will approve President Obama’s proposal to raise the US minimum wage, which Obama says would benefit every US citizen of every social class. The wage increase, which will affect about 28 million US citizens, is opposed by Republicans, who say it will hurt enterprises.
