WHO vows to continue the fight against COVID-19 despite US withdrawal threat
(VOVWORLD) - World Health Organization chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus told a meeting on Tuesday that he will continue to lead the fight against the COVID-19 epidemic, despite President Donald Trump’s tweet threatening that the US may halt WHO funding permanently.

Mr. Ghebreyesus thanked WHO members for their commitment to the organization and praised an EU-drafted resolution that called for an independent review into the WHO’s performance during the coronavirus crisis and was backed by a majority of the body’s 194 members on Monday. He said the WHO will continue its strategic leadership in coordinating countries’ epidemic solutions.
