(VOVworld) - Conservation and sustainable use of wildlife resources were high on agenda of a workshop held in Hanoi on Tuesday by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment. Deputy Minister Bui Cach Tuyen told participants that conservation and sustainable use of wild animals within a country are governed by not only its own policy but also by international regulations and affected by the policies of other countries. So conservation of biodiversity, particular wild animals, needs international cooperation and efforts of central agencies.

Discussions covered the appropriate conservation model in Vietnam, lessons Vietnam can learn from wildlife management models in other nations, and whether Vietnam should ban all forms of commercial breeding and trading of species in need of priority protection.
