Winners of Children International Letter-Writing Competition awarded

(VOVWORLD) -An awards ceremony for the Children International Letter-writing Contest of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) was held in Ha Noi on Friday.
Winners of Children International Letter-Writing Competition awarded - ảnh 1 Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Minh Hong (L) presented prizes to winners.

Themed "Imagine you are a letter travelling through time. What message do you wish to convey to your readers?", the contest received more than 1 million letters from children across Vietnam between last October and March this year.

Children expressed their opinions on major global issues such as environmental protection, peace, combating war and its consequences, and poverty reduction.

Tran Thanh Yen, a grade 8th pupil from Kim Dong secondary school in Da Nang city, won second prize: “Joining the 47th UPU contest, I wrote about my feelings toward female doctor Dang Thuy Tram. I would like to convey a message that peace is an aspiration of all countries.”

The organizing board presented one 1st prize, 3 second prizes, 5 third prizes, 30 consolations, 41 potential writer titles, and 4 special prizes for the youngest pupils and pupils with disabilities.
