(VOVworld) – A workshop opened in Hanoi on Thursday to review the contributions and achievements of the Vietnam People’s Army General Staff.

Many scientists, army officers, and soldiers attended the workshop.

At the event, held to mark the 70^th anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army General Staff, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said that the General Staff has done a good job of consulting with the Ministry of Defense and organizing and building an elite army ready to deal with any unexpected, complex situation and ensure a peaceful and stable environment for national construction and defence: “The General Staff has two difficult but glorious tasks: strategy consulting for the Party and State, and national defence. These tasks need to be coordinated in a  precise and timely manner as Vietnam’s national security depends on them”.
