At an online working session with Trotsenburg on Wednesday, Minh said Vietnam has always considered the WB an important development partner. WB-funded projects and policy consultations have contributed significantly to Vietnam’s national economic growth, Minh said. He called for continued financial aid and consultations for Vietnam’s policy-making and development orientations, particularly in revising the socio-economic development plan and the mid-term public investment plan for 2021-2025. He praised the bank’s non-refundable aid worth 6.2 million USD during the COVID-19 outbreak and requested additional resources to keep on fighting the coronavirus.
Trotsenburg spoke highly of Vietnam’s efforts to contain the virus while achieving positive growth with the virus still ravaging the rest of the world. He promised the WB will always stand ready to support and cooperate with Vietnam in climate change response and renewable energy development.
