The event’s highlights included an exhibition entitled “Plastic waste – its impacts and our response” which introduced programs and solutions to protect the environment. Duong Thi Cam Thuy, a student of Ho Chi Minh City’s University of Natural Resources and Environment, told VOV: "I brought here used batteries and books to exchange for plants. The event encourages me to live greener and use less plastic products to protect the environment. We’ll also use less batteries as we have not found an ideal solution to recycle them."

Hoi An City on Sunday marked World Bicycle Day (June 3) and World Environment Day (June 5) by organizing an event to launch a pilot bicycle sharing scheme under the slogan “Cycling for Hoi An: A Safe – Friendly – Connected City”. The event, which was organized by Hoi An People’s Committee in cooperation with German Development Cooperation (GIZ) and Health Bridge Canada, aimed to encourage the participation of local people by detailing how the social, environmental and health benefits of cycling reflect the values of Hoi An – a World Heritage city.
