Themed “Designing Future Society for Our Lives”, the Expo, which will run until October 13, has 42 "Type A" pavilions built by participating countries, highlighting technologies serving human life and health.
Each participating country is scheduled to be designated a “National Day,” an opportunity for them to hold events that will help visitors learn more about their distinctive cultures and traditions.
The Japanese government estimates the event will generate an economic value of 2.92 trillion yen (20 billion USD) nationwide, based on a target of 28.2 million visitors.
