World leaders congratulate Vietnam on the occasion of its 76th National Day

(VOVWORLD) - Leaders of many countries have held phone talks and sent congratulatory messages to their Vietnamese counterparts on the occasion of the country’s 76th anniversary of the National Day (September 2).

Congratulations came from leaders of India, Japan, the Republic of Korea, the United States, Australia, Germany, Italy, Canada, Romania, Sweden, Algeria, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, Kenya, Malawi, Mongolia, Oman, Pakistan, Palestine, Turkey, Sri Lanka, Finland, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and the Secretary General of the Francophone French speaking community.

Their messages convey congratulations on Vietnam’s decades-long development, the Doi Moi (renewal) journey and Covid-19 response strategy, and wish to enhance the relations with Vietnam.

In the message, the Indian President wished for closer friendship cooperation as the two countries are to celebrate their 50 years of diplomatic ties next year. The Republic of Korea’s President and National Assembly Speaker expected deeper friendship and people’s exchanges as both countries will mark 30 years of diplomatic relations next year.

The US President expressed his pride in major improvement in bilateral partnership for peace, prosperity and security in the region.   

The German President expressed that Germany expects to strengthen the reliable relations with Vietnam even when the Covid-19 pandemic spreads worldwide.

The Italian President affirmed more effective cooperation with Vietnam based on bilateral strategic partnership and Italy as a development partner of the ASEAN for regional stability and prosperity.

The Canadian Governor hoped for further ties in bilateral comprehensive partnership towards 50 years of diplomatic ties in 2023 and reiterated Canada’s unity with Vietnam in coping with the Covid-19 pandemic.
