WTO members concerned over US aluminum tariffs

(VOVWORLD) - Member countries of the World Trade Organization (WTO) have voiced concerns over US President Donald Trump’s decision to impose a 25% tariff on imported steel and a 10% tariff on aluminum.

At a Monday meeting of WTO’s Safeguard Committee, Russia, India, Venezuela, Turkey, Norway, Switzerland, and Singapore expressed concerns over the new US tariff policy. On April 5, China requested consultations under WTO rules on its objection to the US steel and aluminum tariffs.
