(VOVworld) - Vietnam is the only country to achieve impressive export-import growth in 2015 of the 30 leading export-import economies in the World Trade Organization (WTO), according to WTO’s report “World Trade 2016 and Prospects 2016”.
The report showed that Vietnam’s exports soared 7.9% to 162 billion USD, and its imports surged 12.3% to 166 billion USD last year. Meanwhile, major exporters like China, the US, Turkey, and Italy saw decreases in the value of their shipped goods.
The report said Vietnam has set an export target of 173 billion USD in 2016 and hopes to curb its trade deficit. Economists said recent bilateral trade agreements will bring additional investment to Vietnam and open the doors to more trade opportunities.
