The program, co-organized by the STEAM for Vietnam Foundation, the American Center, and the Hanoi University of Science and Technology, will also include an intensive training program for teachers across Vietnam.

The championship will receive registrations from July and officially open in January 2024. The competition is to select 40 teams for the world largest robotics competition – the VEX Robotics World Championship in the US in May next year.

Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Trung Kien, Head of Admissions Department of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, a member of the Organizing Committee, said, “The contest rekindles passion for scientific and technical research and the creativity of students. This year will see 350 teams, which is double that of last year. We hope the Vietnamese students will win. Currently, Hanoi University of Technology is training a number of teachers from 63 provinces and cities nationwide.”

In May, Vietnam sent 19 robotics teams to the VEX Robotics World Championship 2023 in Texas in the US and they brought home five prizes.
