(VOVworld)- The Yemeni President has rejected the possibility of talks with Houthi rebels who are in control of many regions in Yemen. Abedrabbo Mansour Hadi emphasized a single precondition for negotiation, which is the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 2216 approved in April this year.

The resolution demands gunmen to withdraw from regions that they are currently occupying.

If the two sides conducted talks, it would be about measures to implement the UN resolution.Warring parties in Yemen are scheduled to have negotiations in Switzerland by the end of this week.

The same day, Saudi Arabia strengthened its military presence in the Southern city of Jizan, bordering Yemen. Jizan city is considered the most populous city among three Yemen border provinces. 4 Saudi Arabia gunmen have been killed in some attacks by Houthi rebels there.
