(VOVworld) – President Truong Tan Sang visited Yen Bai province on Wednesday as part of his tour of the northwestern provinces. He asked provincial leaders and the steering committee for the northwestern region to focus on developing agriculture and forestry in order to reduce poverty. He called for efforts to apply technological advances in production, which will help Yen Bai catch up with other provinces in the region: “There should be international cooperation in science and technology in the northern mountain region. Young people in rural areas should learn from other countries’ experiences.”

President Sang asked the provincial Party committee, government, and people to fulfill the remaining targets of the 2011-2015 development plan and prepare for Party congresses at all levels toward the 12^th National Party Congress. He also urged for activities to ensure a happy Tet for the poor and social policy beneficiaries in the province.
