The 3-day festival aimed to promote the cultural values of the Dong Van Stone Plateau and develop a brand for the flower, one of typical characters of Ha Giang’s natural landscapes.
One of the festival’s highlights is a street carnival featuring folk music and traditional clothes of ethnic minority groups in Ha Giang.
Various activities will be held as part of the festival including a photo exhibition describing Ha Giang during this year’s buckwheat flower season that will run through this Thursday.
Nguyen Van Son, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, said at the opening ceremony: “The festival will create a breakthrough in attracting visitors to revel the grandiose scenery of Ha Giang and explore the traditional culture of local ethnic minority people. It will also offer an opportunity to praise the beauty of Ha Giang people who are firm and resolute in turning the border province into a more prosperous area.”
The festival involves four districts of Quan Ba, Yen Minh, Dong Van, and Meo Vac.
