A meeting to mark Vietnam Sea and Island Week 2017 opens

Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh urged localities to realize policies to support fishermen in offshore fishing, protecting the marine environment, and safeguarding national maritime sovereignty: “We need to resolutely defend national territory and maritime sovereignty. National sovereignty is inviolable. Generations of Vietnamese people have sacrificed their lives to safeguard national territory and sovereignty over the sea and islands. Vietnamese people today and tomorrow are responsible for protecting our sacred land, sea, and island.”
