Anti-Human Trafficking Day launched

(VOVworld)- On Saturday, the Ministry of Public Security, the Vietnam Women’s Union and the Lao Cai Provincial People’s Committee launched a movement in response to the Anti-Human Trafficking Day. The event aims to raise the public awareness on preventing human trafficking.

In her address, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Women’s Union Nguyen Thi Thu Ha highlighted the importance of the event. She said Lao Cai was selected to launch the event because the province has recently become a hot spot of human trafficking.

To mark World Anti-Illegal Immigration Day, UN Chief Ban Ki Moon called on the world community to make more efforts to prevent illegal immigration and protect migrants, especially women and children.
